Day 1 - Oslo (or you can start in Bergen)

Arrival in Oslo

Arrival in Oslo according to your own itinerary. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Oslo offers many well known sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, Fråm Polar Museum, Kontiki Museum and the Munch Museum. Walking the streets of the city reveals urban life in Norway, enjoy green parks, the Royal Palace, a mixture of architecture and of course the waterfront where the hustle and bustle of ferries is mixed with outdoor cafes and restaurants, outdoor entertainment and the odd cruise ship in dock... all watched over by the Akerhus fort. You can easily while away the hours down at the waterfront at Aker Brygge. Accommodation in Oslo city centre.

Day 2 - Depart Oslo for Flåm

Oslo - Myrdal - Flåm (by train)

After breakfast at the hotel, make your way to Oslo train station. Today you will experience one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Morning departure from Oslo by train to Myrdal which will take about 5 hours. In Myrdal, swap to the famous Flåm Railway that passes through wild and beautiful scenery with waterfalls and steep mountain sides. It descends from a height of 900 metres down to Flåm at a sidearm of the Sognefjord. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that is so steep over a long distance. * You can choose to stay in Flåm for several nights - it depends on what activities you want to experience during your stay. Choose from relaxing in a spa, a fjord sauna experience, kayaking on the fjord, hiking, or take a tour up to the Stegastein viewpoint.

Day 3 - Flåm to Bergen

Flåm - Gudvangen - Voss - Bergen (by boat, bus & train)

After breakfast at the hotel, take some time to discover Flåm and its surroundings. There are different hiking tours; you can rent bikes or kayaks. In the afternoon, board the ferry taking you over the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe, and has recently been added to UNESCO's World Heritage List. From Gudvangen, the journey continues by bus through Nærøyfjord Valley and pass the Stalheimskleiva with its 13 steep hairpin bends. The last part of the excursion will be by train from Voss to Bergen, Norway's second largest city and the world's only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Day 4 - Bergen

Exploring Bergen

A leisurely breakfast at the hotel to set you up for a day at leisure in Bergen. Bergen is called the Gateway to the Fjords and in a stunning and dramatic location. Local sights of interest include the Hanseatic Bryggen area, Fløibanen Funicular, the composer Edvard Grieg's home Troldhaugen, the Fish market, Bergen Aquarium and Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen Open Air Museum). You can explore independently or with a local guide to explore Bergen.

Day 5 - Bergen
